Why Perform at Kismet?

Professional dancers have the chance to advertise themselves/studios and reach potential new students at every performance.

Amateur dancers have the chance to perform at a venue where the audience appreciates the courage and strength it takes to perform for that first time.

Unlike most professional events, we do not charge dancers to perform.

Dancers from all genres are welcome, so you can share your dance style with other dancers from other styles and perhaps add something new to your own dance vocabulary.

A professional high quality DVD of the evening’s performances is available for a nominal $15. For an extra fee, Just Motion Videography will also convert your individual performances to a file that you can upload to the internet, so you can share your dance anywhere!
How do you sign up?
Due to the success of Kismet events, we now ask that you sign up to perform at the event. Kismet Stage Events welcome all dance performances that adhere to the following:
- Routines need to be under six minutes in length
- Routines need to be family friendly both in content and in music.
Please remember: One performance per person.
We are limiting our events to 15 performances.

All you will have to do is enter in your information. Only your name and date you signed up will be visible to the public. Your contact information will not be published and only used by Kismet to verify your attendance.
Canceling:
Should you need to cancel your performance, please do so at least a week a head of time, so another may take your spot. To cancel email DallasKismet@gmail.com.
Waiting List:
Yes, there is a waiting list, so even if the event is full, sign up anyway. If there is a cancellation, the list will move up accordingly.
If you have performed last event, please wait to sign up until the week before an event- to give other dancers the opportunity to perform as well.
THIS LIST DOES NOT REFLECT THE ORDER OF THE PERFORMANCES, JUST WHO WILL BE PERFORMING.
The order will be listed a week before the event.

The 'Back Half'
This is our troupe showcase spot, for groups with a "show" ranging from 20-30 minutes. This MUST be reserved in advance through Dallaskismet@gmail.com
Music
We prefer to have your music on CD, but our DJ can help if we are given enough notice.
Props
We must be informed of special props (ie: fire, incense, etc.) at least one month prior to the event as we must clear these things with our venue first.
About the venue
The high ceilings and open seating area are ideal for all types of performances from cane to veil to glow sticks on 8 foot chains. The stage is raised about 24 inches ~ and is a beautiful dark wood. The stage can fit 10 dancers comfortably, and yet remains intimate enough that a soloist won't feel lost.
Regarding Photography
We welcome photography and you may video your performers performance. All performances will be taped by our videographer, Just Motion, and will be available on a DVD for only $15. Please no tripods, only monopods while taping.
